Keep Kingston Elementary Schools Open -- Cancel KHS Building Plans

An important premise was left out of the study of realigning Kingston City Schools.  Premise---We should not add on to Kingston High School since we cannot afford it.--------CANCEL PLANS FOR A KHS Building project. ----- Then, the alignment solutions are more acceptable and affordable to parents and taxpayers. Put the 6th grade back in the elementary grades.  Put the 9th grade into the two middle schools.  Reorganize KHS as 10, 11, and 12 grades. ------- In summary, keep your existing buildings and teaching staff, but CANCEL THE KHS BUILDING PLANS...ie. Do a better, more efficient job with what you have.

Ralph, the proposal you mentioned was discussed as quite viable many years ago when you had more fiscally conservative members on the board.

IT IS A GREAT CONCEPT!! The voters in Kingston are going to have a fight on their hands with the liberal spending board reps you elected.

You need parents to show up to their meetings en masse and let them know these "paid suggestions" are ridiculous! But wait, they have scheduled that meeting for 4:30, didn't they? MOST parents are WORKING. I prove my point. They don't WANT your input.

SHAME ON THE PARENTS WHO STUPIDLY FOLLOWED THE ADVICE OF THE UNION AND VOTED THESE PEOPLE BACK IN!!!

Your concept is simple, sensitive and SMART. That's why they won't adopt it.

Well since the people are paying for advice they dont really need and these meeting are scheduled so most of the public cant be there, the district is always winning at the expense of the people.
The big switch neednt be complicated at all.
Theres three junior high schools ,put em back the way they always worked.
The bigger elementary schools Kennedy,Washington, should be filled the way they used to be.
Washington was and is being wasted the whole top floor is vacant a smelly pet zoo with a huge turtle in the basement which belongs to the principal is maintained by the ah selected staff, dogs are brought to school ,revolting smelly into the air of where these babies are cared for ,turtles carry bacteria in the summer time the neighbors can smell this stench at different times ,the school itself is only maintained by the way it looks two men which isnt close enough to do the job,if the montessori project ah is supposed to end in 2011 RETURN THE SCHOOL BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL USE AND ITS ONCE REPUTATION OF EXCELLENCE UNDER A DISCPLINED PRINCIPAL AND NOT A PET ZOO.
MJM, BAILY ,MILLER SHOULD CONSISTS OF 7 8 9 GRADES THE HIGH SCHOOL ONLY 10 11 12 WITH A CLOSED CAMPUS PERIOD.
Th bull crap that is fed to the people has to stop and cuts should be dealt out to some of the excess higher salaries instead of cutting the lower end which IS hurting the care of all the schools .

The Record Monday 11/8 had an article about districts coping with budgets - Kingston really didn't lay anybody off according to Gretzinger.
