The Kingston School District got the bad news about KHS in a "scathing" report from the state

The Kingston School District got the bad news about KHS in a "scathing" report from the state......If the high school does not improve, then “phase out or close the school” is the course of action under the next level...................This is the expected result when the teacher's union is running the school and the compensation plans for teachers. WHY WOULD TEACHERS DO THEIR BEST IF THEY GET AUTOMATIC STEP RAISES AND RAISES FOR MERELY TAKING COURSES.......This compensation plan has nothing to do with student level teaching.........In addition, this "House Plan" to isolate the grades in different parts of the KHS building takes the FOCUS off of the INDIVIDUAL TEACHER TO STUDENT LEARNING.......My Advice........REJECT UNION IDEAS WHICH HIDE BAD TEACHERS AND BAD TEACHING......EMPHASIZE INDIVIDUAL TEACHER SUCCESS WITH INDIVIDUAL REWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE IN INDIVIDUAL STUDENT SUCCESS!

To 8:08 am,

Excellent point! What did the Board know and when did they know it. When NEWS about the Kingston Teacher's contract settlement with possible raises comes out, I HOPE there is a HUGE OUTRAGE from the taxpayers and the public at large! .......HAVE WE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS NONSENSE YET!

Let's get a copy of the report - the date would be interesting.

You are obviously a snob - your the only blog with no links to other blogs so there are no to yours.

To 2:09 pm,

Does anyone have or can easily get a copy of the NY State Negative Report on KHS?

Also, I am not a snob. My blog is listed on the Kingston Freeman list of active blogs. But you are correct maybe I should list some other blogs and maybe they will list mine in exchange.

The Freeman, Kingston Times or Record could more easily get a copy of the report - but hey why rock the boat?

I don't get it - Freeman writes articles how Saugerties Sports lost in austerity was saved by donors. In Kingston we had 2 austerity budgets in recent years - but no sports were reduced???

How did that happen?

Ralph, any citizen can simply write or email a "FOIL" request...Freedom of Information Law request.

Simply email or write the district and request the specific report, and any or all correspondence relating to it.

They have, I believe, ten days to respond to you. Google it.

I guarantee you, knowing the inner workings of Crown ST., that they knew about this for some time.

Better yet, contact State Ed in Albany and ask them.

The public needs you. Thanks for doing this...
